Turkey is renowned throughout the world for the fine craftsmanship and beauty of its carpets as well as leather goods and jewelry. Of course, an unforgettable part of any trip to Turkey involves a little "pazarlik" or bargaining. which begins when you enter a shop and sip a ritual cup of *çay* or tea while you examine the wares on sale. In addition to Turkey's brightly colored carpets. you'll also find Turkish leather is exceptional, made from buttery soft lambskin. While gold and silver are reasonably priced, lapis, onyx and other semiprecious stones are Turkey's specialty.

It's best to wait until you arrive to change into local currency. What about sports gear?
Although most yachts provide snorkeling gear, we suggest that lovers of underwater activities bring their own snorkel and mask. A special note on scuba diving -Turkey's laws prohibit scuba diving in some of her waters. We strongly advise against bringing such gear. However, scuba diving is permissible in very limited areas only, and anyone interested can request further information of us regarding the location of these specially designated scuba diving waters.

Can I bring my electric shaver or hair dryer?if you can't find an answer - please drop us a note
Turkey operates on 220 volt electricity with round-prong European-style plugs, so the boats do. It's probably best to bring a plug adapter and travel transformer just in case.

What should I pack?
Comfortable, informal clothing and equally comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing in cities as well as ancient sites.
Soft or rubber soled footwear or boat shoes on the boat. Wear standard shoes and sandals for on-shore use only.

During the summer months, you'll need
lightweight clothing, T-shirts, shorts and lightweight cotton slacks, jeans and shirts. In April and May and from mid-September through October, evenings and even days may be cool, so please bring a sweater or sweatshirt. For entertaining and on-shore dining and dancing, you may wish to have an easy-care dress- up outfit with you.

And keep in mind that when you visit mosques or churches, you should avoid wearing either shorts or short sleeves. Life on a boat will generally be informal, so keep in mind -
don't come with suitcases - they are difficult to store on a boat. And you'll probably want to bring at least two swimsuits along with some towels - as these are not supplied on all of the boats.

Sunglasses -at least two pair with neck chain to avoid loss. Eyeglasses-bring two pair with neck chain, or one pair and your optometrist's prescription for duplication in the event of their breakage or loss

Skin protection. The sun in Turkey is especially strong, and therefore a good sun screen or blocking lotion or cream is mandatory. Avoid oily, greasy applications which are slippery and pose a danger on board. To continue your protection, bring along after-sun lotions or skin softeners

Head gear. To protect against the ill effects of prolonged exposure to the sun, a hat, cap or scarf is most important

Medication: Prescription or other medications should be brought in sufficient quantities to last the duration of your vacation.

What about flights?
Airfare is not included in any
meetundersails arrangement, nor are domestic flights within Turkey. When you've settled on a tour and departure date, make certain you provide us with your right arrival information, so that we can arrange to meet and transfer you to your boat when you arrive.
